The Accra Caucus for Forests and Climate Change is a coalition of NGOs representing approximately one hundred civil society and indigenous peoples’ organizations from 38 countries. Formed in 2008, the Caucus follows closely the REDD negotiations at the UNFCCC. The Caucus works to place the rights of indigenous peoples and forest communities at the centre of REDD+ negotiations, and to ensure that efforts to reduce deforestation promote good governance and are not a substitute for emissions reductions in industrialised countries.
