The Iwokrama International Centre for Rainforest Conservation and Development (IIC) is an international not-for-profit organisation, and the institution responsible for managing the Iwokrama Forest in Guyana. IIC’s mission is to promote conservation and the sustainable and equitable use of tropical rainforests in a manner that will lead to lasting ecological, economic and social benefits to the people of Guyana and to the world in general by undertaking research, training and the development and dissemination of technologies.


The IIC implements sustainable development and research programmes with indigenous people, and is a partner in the Community Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (CMRV) project in North Rupununi, Guyana.
