Institutional arrangements for monitoring, reporting and verification
This report explores some of the different approaches countries have taken in designing their institutional arrangements for Monitoring, Reporting and Verification of REDD+ activities (MRV). It examines commonalities and differences between arrangements, and provides examples of different institutional approaches. It recommends improving institutional capacities through establishing institutional mandates and clear division of roles, improving institutional coordination mechanisms and sustainable human resource arrangements. It is of interest to decision makers grappling with the challenge of developing and implementing an appropriate national MRV system that meets their specific country needs.
