The Nordic Agency for Development and Ecology (NORDECO) is a Danish based consultancy specialized in sustainable development initiatives. Founded in 1990, NORDECO is wholly owned by the non-profit Nordisk Fond for Miljø og Udvikling, which promotes development and protection of natural resources through support of local, innovative initiatives. NORDECO started the Monitoring Matters Research Project (MOMA) (2005-2008) that compared different biodiversity and natural resource use monitoring systems and studied the effects of locally based monitoring schemes in selected rural areas of Asia, Africa and Latin America.
